Our Impact 2023-24
Helping students love their time at Leeds
Leeds University Union exists to enhance and improve the experience for students during their time at University of Leeds. It is a broad mission, encompassing everything from student support, activities, campaigns and representation, to jobs and value for money in our shops, bars and cafes.
This is a snapshot of what LUU has done in the second year of our 2022 -2026 strategy. It’s a celebration of the amazing things that can happen in the face of great challenges, of the vibrancy and commitment of our student community, and of the partnerships and people that make things happen.

In students' words
“Joblink gives guidance to international students and make them feel independent and responsible. I was able to secure various part-time job opportunities to support myself and develop a lot of skills, and I didn’t need to compromise on my studies and grades to do these jobs.” – Sambit
“While working as a catering assistant in Devonshire, I was able to promote new sustainability activities and ways to engage students in sustainability. Thanks to that, I was able to redirect myself towards a project management role in sustainability, and how I ended up being a sustainability architect for the University this year.” – Alex
“I’ve learnt so many skills throughout my time at LUU, especially at LSTV and LSR! Being a member of LUU has been the most integral part of my University journey.” – Daisy
“Being a Faculty Officer has helped me gain transferable skills such as public speaking, working with senior stakeholders, and advocating for the student voice. It has prepared me for the future by fostering a more self-expressive mindset, improving my social skills, and teaching me effective life management.” – Fareda
“Being a Faculty Officer and a School Rep has allowed me to expand my network, establish a professional identity, and learn to lead by example. The knowledge I gain and the people I meet all enable me to feel as though I’m coming back to my second home every day.” – Hamzeh
