Our Commitments To Being An Anti-Racist Organisation
LUU is an anti-racist organisation
LUU believes that there is no place in society for racism. As an organisation, we are committed to anti-racism.
Together, we will:
- tackle cultural biases
- eliminate discriminatory beliefs and practices
- educate ourselves and others
- understand privilege and demonstrate allyship
Let's be clear - you are either racist or anti-racist.
To be truly anti-racist, we have to actively oppose racism by advocating for and implementing changes at LUU, the University of Leeds, and beyond.
We must identify and challenge racism, ensure it does not happen again, and take preventative action.
What we have done so far:
- listened to students, our staff, and our trustee board
- looked at our approach to hiring, and our policies
- invited review by the National Centre for Diversity, and from our staff networks
