Grab a souvenir & snap a memory
First things first – we want you to remember your time at Leeds. And what better way to capture your memories than by getting a souvenir from Gear!
We have adorable soft toys (and you can even dress them in their own graduation cap and gown), keyrings, pin badges, postcards and, of course, a classic University of Leeds mug. You can also get a holder or a tube for your certificate. And don’t forget the hoodie!
LUU is also surrounded by some gorgeous spots for photo opportunities. There’s plenty of green escapes, and the Roger Stevens pond is nearby too. Or how about the pyramid by the LUU steps, which is a beloved spot for the campus bunnies?
Watch the ceremony
Want more people to see you cross the stage? We’ll be streaming the graduation ceremonies in Terrace – bring your guests to our award-winning bar to enjoy your graduation over cocktails (or mocktails)!
Enjoy a meal with your loved ones
Your graduation day might be longer and more exhausting than you expect, so treating yourself to a nice meal is a must.
Old Bar is the place for those who are fans of a classic British pub meal. Meanwhile, Terrace is the dream location to enjoy the summer vibes – whether you’re catching the sun in the outside area, or getting cosy indoors. What’s a party without a pizza and cocktails? You can even get a champagne bucket there!
Treat yourself
We wouldn’t be surprised if you told us that Common Ground coffee fueled you through the early mornings and long days at uni. Not to get too sentimental, but you should really treat yourself to one last drink from Common Ground before you leave Leeds. Perhaps make a stop there before the ceremony begins to give yourself a boost?
Also, let’s not forget that it’s summer, and that means one thing – ice-cream. So go ahead and grab a delicious treat from Scream (did you know that we have new sundae flavours?).
Feeling overwhelmed?
There’s a variety of seating options in LUU, and the building is quieter during the summer months, so it’s a good place to take a break. Rest your feet in the Foyer, or go upstairs for a quieter space.
Don’t forget to stay hydrated throughout the day – we have water refill stations across the building, and you can always ask for a glass of water in our cafes and bars.
Finally, if you get lost or overwhelmed at any point, talk to our Help & Support team in the Foyer who will guide you in the right direction!
