What did Welcome have to offer?
There was a variety of activities on offer, ranging from Freshers Fairs (Welcome and Sports fairs), accommodation mixers and BBQs, Global Cafe, the Night Market, craft activities, tea parties, plant and poster sales, and so much more.
Students highlighted that there was a good variety of events.

How did students benefit from Welcome 2023?
The majority of students who responded to our survey said that they benefited from attending events during Welcome Week.
72% of students ‘agreed’ or ‘strongly agreed’ that they felt less anxious and overwhelmed about starting university after attending Welcome Week events.
82% ‘agreed’ or ‘strongly agreed’ that they felt more included and part of the student community post Welcome Week.
Other positive responses included students enjoying themselves and having fun, meeting new people and making new friends, feeling more confident about where to find support in LUU, gaining familiarity with their new surroundings, and finding out about what activities and events they can get involved with at university – over 70% of students positively responded to these statements.
62% of survey respondents loved the friendly and welcoming environment of Welcome Week, and 41% liked the good atmosphere of the events. 32% of students said that the opportunity to meet new people or make new friends was their favourite thing about Welcome Week.
