Better Forums, Autumn 2023: Results

Our first Better Forums of the year took place last week.

A massive thank you to all students who took part, especially Idea Holders presenting their Ideas and making a passionate case for changing areas of student experience at Leeds. Thank you also to our Reps for delivering students’ feedback on the Ideas, and the panellists for listening to the Ideas and feedback presented before voting.

Better Union

Ideas that guide our work as a Union

Should LUU limit its engagement with West Yorkshire Police?

The Idea did not reach consensus and could go to a campus-wide referendum. 

Better University

Ideas that guide LUU as an organisation on what it advocates for at the University

Should LUU work with the UoL to implement a vape recycling initiative?

The Idea passed and has become Union Policy for three years.

Should the University of Leeds cut ties with Arms and Border Control Industries?

The Idea failed and cannot be resubmitted for a year.
