Help & Support
Our trained advisors in Help & Support are here to offer you free, confidential, and independent advice and useful resources, in areas like academic misconduct and housing issues. You can browse their self-help pages, or book a 1:1 appointment.
The Help & Support team also curates a year-round programme of mindfulness, which includes events and workshops, ranging from pet therapy and mindful colouring, to sexual health screenings and stalls with national mental health organisations.
Harassment & Misconduct
The University of Leeds Harassment & Misconduct team is available to (anonymously) report any incidents of violence, abuse, bullying, harassment, sexual misconduct, and discrimination – whether you’ve experienced or witnessed it.
Safe Nights Out
LUU is committed to offering you safe nights out, and our venues ensure that you can have a good time, with initiatives like Ask Angela, and with wellbeing event reps. We also offer deals with local taxis, and we run a night bus service to help you get home safely.
LUU has also been awarded the Best Bar None accreditation since 2006. This means that we are recognised as a place which ensures a safe and enjoyable customer experience, and that our outlets have a responsible attitude and sound crime prevention measures.
Spring Welfair
Last year, we saw the first instalment of the LUU Spring Welfair, which was an opportunity for students to check in with their mind and body during the stressful exam and assignment season. Spring Welfair will return this year, and you can keep an eye out for a whole festival of mindful events and informative stalls.
Communities
Joining a society is an incredibly powerful way to surround yourself with a community of like-minded individuals, make friends, and fill your time with fun, relaxing and meaningful activities. We have a variety of Welfare, Volunteering, and Campaigning societies where you can find a safe and welcoming community to talk about your mental health, identity and passions, learn new skills, and make a difference to others by supporting a cause that matters to you.
