Chill and eat
If you are eager to relax and have a snack in between the day’s activities, come along to Common Ground. We have a cafe and many comfortable sofas and chairs. Or, if you are after a bigger meal, our bars Terrace and Old Bar will be serving food as usual. Why not introduce your guests to Old Bar’s famous potato stacks? Cheesy, hot and delicious. Or perhaps try Terrace’s new menu if you’ve not yet had the chance. Terrace is serving up homemade focaccia with fresh ingredients, plus pasta, pizza and salads.
Buy some graduation merch
You can’t leave Leeds without merchandise to remember your student days. Go to Gear and get your hands on some Leeds University jumpers, t-shirts, or sportswear. Gear has also released some special items for graduates. Take Benji the bear home, a cute and cuddly alumni of Leeds Uni. Benji can be purchased alongside a graduation cap and gown that fits him perfectly. Also featured in our graduation collection are certificate holders, tote bags, and artwork of iconic Leeds spots. Check out the prints of Belgrave and Bakery 164. Maybe you want to give a graduation present to one of your friends?
Watch the ceremony in our bars
Our bars, Terrace and Old Bar, will also be live-streaming the graduation service. This is a perfect way for any extra family and friends to enjoy your special moment. You can grab some celebratory drinks at our bars. These don’t have to be alcoholic, as well as the usual cocktails, beers and wines, we offer alcohol free alternatives.
Ice cream and umbrellas
The weather this summer is unpredictable. If it’s raining you can buy an emergency umbrella from Gear. However, if you’ve been lucky enough to have a hot and sunny graduation, this calls for an ice cream from Scream. Our dairy ice cream is supplied by local Yorvale farm and our vegan selection is supplied by Northern Block. Flavours include chocolate and blood orange, caramel and sea salt, rum and raisin, pear and ginger, and tiramisu.
If you need any help throughout the day, ask at our information desk in the entry hall of LUU. Alternatively, wave down any member of staff. We will be wearing green and yellow lanyards and are always happy to chat.
