Get Ready To Move Out

Now that the academic year is over, you might be busy getting ready to move to your new student accomodation. Take this time to go through your things and declutter! We have found a few organisations that will collect your unwanted items, including clothing, furniture, electronics and books, and find new life and better use for them. This is a great way to minimise your waste and to contribute to your local community.

Emmaus Leeds

Accepting:

  • Home furniture (sofas, bedframes, wardrobes, etc. – with fire labels)
  • Glass furniture (TV stands, dining tables, etc.)
  • Kitchen appliances (fridges, freezers, cookers, etc.)
  • Mattresses (with fire label intact)
  • Office furniture
  • Bicycles
  • Crockery and ceramics
  • Electrical equipment (flat screen TVs, music players, MP3 players, digital radios, sewing machines, vacuum cleaners, etc.)
  • Exercise equipment

Not accepting:

  • Glass bottles
  • Suitcases
  • Loose knives (set of kitchen knives is acceptable)
  • Bike helmets
  • Tins with flammables/paint
  • Used duvets/pillows
  • Books
  • Clothes, shoes and accessories
  • Computer games

  • Clothes
  • Shoes
  • Handbags
  • Toys, games, books, music and bric-a-brac
  • Electrical items (not large white goods)
  • Furniture (with fire labels)
