A place to study in Leeds that isn’t the library
We know the library isn’t always the best place to get work done, and that sometimes it’s better for your productivity to study in a more relaxed environment. Cafes and coffee shops are often a great solution, but it can be awkward (and sometimes expensive) to figure out how long you can reasonably stay in one. We’re all about making students’ lives easier, which is why we’ve got plenty of seating, plus free WiFi and plug sockets for you to work in your Union without worrying about buying enough hot drinks to earn your seat. What’s more, our cafes are laptop-friendly too, so why not grab a coffee and cake for some essay-writing fuel?
If you’re not in the market for a coffee, we also have free-for-everyone spaces at Pyramid and Mango Studio specifically for those who’ve brought in their own food or bought lunch from a grab and go outlet. You’re welcome to study, chill or eat here, freeing up space for customers in our eat-in bars and cafes.
A place to meet friends and have fun
Our outlets are always here as a place for you to hang out with your friends and coursemates for lunch, drinks and more, or just for a quick pit stop to pick up a sandwich between lectures. Our outlets make students’ needs a priority, which is why we’ve developed our menus with value for money and affordability in mind. We’re also always looking for ways to make our offerings more sustainable and inclusive. This includes pushing plant-based options, using local suppliers to cut our carbon footprint, and making sure there are options for those with specific dietary needs and preferences, like gluten free or non-alcoholic options in our pubs and bars.
And being located at the heart of campus, our cafes, bars and pubs are super convenient for students to grab a post-lecture pint or pre-seminar smoothie. What will you choose?
A place to just chill
And if you’re not working away or meeting a pal, we’re still your place to chill. Got some time to kill between classes or a packed lunch to eat? Need to shield from the rain (all too common in Yorkshire), or just need a spot to sit down and make a call? From the Foyer to the Pyramid, we’re your place to do that, with no strings attached. We’re your Union, and you’re our member – simple as that. Why not make the most of it?
