Tell us a little bit about yourself!
I’m Vicky, the International & Postgraduate officer. I’m from Guangdong, China. I’m an International Relations student and I’ve just finished my second year at Uni.
Why did you want to join the Exec?
It is an excellent opportunity to make a change at the university and I think I’ve got some great ideas for it. To be honest, as an international student who finished the first two years with lockdowns and strikes, I didn’t get to experience Uni life much. Taking a year off for a placement as student exec before my final year would be great for me to experience the culture here.
What are your priorities for the year ahead?
My objective this year is to enhance the engagement of international and postgraduate students, and this will be my priority. Soon, I’ll be working on postgraduate events and I’m really excited about the cultural calendar. There will be different cultural events all year round.
What are you most looking forward to in your role?
Everything honestly. I’m looking forward to seeing the changes that I can bring to the university. This is actually the very first job I’ve ever had and I’m excited about working with the other execs.
