Course: International Relations
Your top policy priority in a sentence?
It’s a deeply personal one to me: I don’t feel like International Students’ voices are being heard in the University policy on the UCU strikes, so I want to bring them to the forefront at the decision making table.
We are tired of their war of attrition with our teachers and we just want the education we paid for–I think this is a concern both international and home students can get behind. It just happens to come at a more hefty cost for us International Students.
Favourite club or society?
My own: POLISSOC. I’m incredibly proud of my committee team and our members have helped us grow and reach so many students so quickly. Our job isn’t complete yet, but my part in our society is definitely one of my greatest achievements.
Balcony or Common Ground?
Common Ground, it’s a great location for when all the libraries shut on early on Saturday and the furniture is pretty cool.

In my first year Fruity for sure, but now, a big night at a friend’s is always a shout when I have the time.
Laidlaw or Eddy B?
Eddy B between the two, but I’m a Brotherton West Wing basement man myself. Immaculate atmosphere, and it smells like actual books!

The bacon strips for sure. Forever immortalised to me by my friend’s sister, who got them tattooed on her once she left Leeds.

The Politics building study spaces are my personal favourite. I know a lot of our lecturers and tutors who walk through there so it’s great to have random chats with them.
And the big one – why should students vote for you?
I’ve got a wealth of experience representing student interests over my time at Leeds, and I am already familiar with our university system and structures. This exec position is a logical next step to expand my reach, applying my skills to improve the experience of all our students at Leeds, present and future.

Course: International Relations
Your top policy priority in a sentence?
My top policy priority is providing help for incoming international students. For international students, starting a life in a completely strange city is scary, so I believe that transition will be a lot easier if there is someone who’s an international student from a similar background to help.
Favourite club or society?

Balcony or Common Ground?

Big night at Fruity or a chilled evening elsewhere?

Laidlaw or Eddy B?
100% Laidlaw.
What’s it called: bacon or wiggly lines?
Wiggly lines!
Ultimate Old Bar potato stack topping/favourite food from an LUU outlet?
Bacon and Jalapeños yum.
Favourite spot on campus?
So far my favourite spot is the bit outside Edward Boyle library that has a lot of rabbits.
And the big one – why should students vote for you?
As an International student myself, I deeply understand the issues that most international students are dealing with, like the language barrier, cultural shock, racism and so on. I have also noticed that the postgrads don’t get as much attention as undergraduate students. I will try my absolute hardest to make a change, make it easier for international students’ lives in Leeds, and make better connections for the PGs.
