LUU Achieves Excellent Green Impact Students’ Union Award for fourth year running
We’re delighted to announce that we have been granted an Excellent Green Impact Students’ Union Award for the fourth year in a row. This award recognises LUU’s achievements and continuous work towards becoming a more sustainable organisation as we embed sustainability and social justice across our community and beyond.
Environmental sustainability continues to be a focus for us as we look towards the next academic year, and we look forward to building upon our staff and students’ excellent work so far.
We’ll be announcing some exciting changes for the new year in due course, and we can’t wait to share them with you. For now though, why not take a look at our Sustainability at LUU page for an outline of some of the ways you can help LUU and the Leeds community be more sustainable? From litter picking to lobbying, there are loads of ways students can get involved in our efforts.
Green Impact for Students’ Unions (GISU) is Students Organising for Sustainability UK’s (SOS) flagship sustainability support and awards programme for the student movement.
The award is designed to help unions run effective projects and campaigns to create lasting change around sustainability issues. Green Impact provides a framework and guidance for students’ unions to work towards their sustainability goals and make meaningful, visible progress.
