Volunteers are asked to commit to at least one day of volunteering from 9.30 am – 4.30 pm.
Volunteering responsibilities will include:
- Door knocking in a localised area to explain targeted testing and keeping safe
- Delivering key health message leaflets
- Promoting necessary public health messages
- Distributing tests and explaining how to use them
- Explaining how to register the tests on the Government website if necessary
- Collecting tests once complete
Community Officer Lotti commented: “As Covid-19 cases are on the rise and lots of students are self-isolating, Leeds City Council are looking for volunteers to help distribute tests and health messaging to other students. It would be great to see students joining volunteers to support fellow students in the community. Take care and get in touch with LUU Advice if you need anything, we are always here to support you.”
To volunteer, please turn up at The Cardigan Centre, 145-149 Cardigan Road, Leeds LS6 1LJ at 9.30am, where you will receive a briefing and instructions from Leeds City Council. You will be supported by staff from Leeds City Council and are asked to bring a bag with you that can be used for carrying leaflets.
