Things are less daunting when you know what to expect, which is why we’ve outlined the steps we’ve taken to ensure your safety, as well as some of the ways things have changed in the building.
You can rest assured that we’ll be responding quickly to the Government’s guidelines as required – and if it’s not safe and legal to open, we won’t. Simple.
So, no pressure. Only come to see us when you feel relaxed and confident doing so – but we hope that we can reassure you that we’ve taken all the precautions we can. And remember – every penny of profit at LUU is reinvested into your student experience. See you soon!

What safety measures are in place?
- We’ve established a one way system around the building and our outlets to ensure visitors maintain a safe social distance. Plenty of signage has been added to make this as clear as possible.
- Staff and students must wear a face covering inside the building. Whilst not compulsory, we’re also encouraging their use outside where a 2 metre distance cannot be maintained. Washable face coverings are available from security.
- Hand sanitising stations have been set up around the building, including right at the entrance, and students and staff will be asked to use them regularly.
- We have always been rigorous about our cleaning but have increased our deep cleaning and sanitisation around the building, including high-touch items like self checkout screens and door handles.
- In our outlets we will be limiting customer numbers where needed to prevent overcrowding. Similarly, enclosed spaces like toilets will have limits on numbers.
- We’ll be encouraging contactless payments to avoid the unnecessary touching of surfaces.
- Each of our outlets will have hosts on hand to talk you through our new rules and processes and make sure you’re comfortable.
- We’ve also got a new order and pay app accessible via QR code, so you can safely order and pay contactlessly from your phone.
- Most of our staff are still working from home in order to minimise the number of people on campus.
