Exec Statement
“We at LUU stand with Jackson Yamba and his son David. We do not condone this behaviour, and acts like this in any form are despicable. We need to come together and actively stand against racism, as being silent is not enough. We will be arranging a show of support in the coming weeks, to make sure the family affected know that Leeds University Union stands with them against shows of racism and hatred.” – Tamsin, Your Equality and Diversity Officer
Students speak out
“Cowardly racism like this, whilst very much alive in society, has no place in our society. It feels like we have gone back in time. I stand in support of Jackson and his son.” – Natalie Amari, student
If you would like to help to organise the gesture, please get in touch with Tamsin.
