Find your way around the union
Make your way around the Union building easier with our handy directions including accessibility routes to our meeting rooms, studios and venues spaces.
Find the Meeting Rooms
- Turn right across the foyer towards the help desk
- Cross the bridge on the left of the help desk
- Turn left and proceed up the staircase on your left up to level 2
- Follow the corridor until you reach your meeting room
- Cross the bridge to the left of the help desk and then turn left
- Take the stairs on your left up to level 2
- Follow the corridor until you reach your meeting room
- Walk straight ahead and up the staircase in front of you
- Go through the double doors and then take the staircase on your right
- Follow the signs up the staircase to level 2
- Follow the corridor on level 2 until you reach your meeting room
Find our Venues (Function/Pyramid/Stylus)
- Walk straight ahead across the foyer towards the staircase going down
- Proceed down the staircase towards Gear
- Take the second set of stairs to the left of Gear
- Follow the signs to the venue you are looking for
- Turn around and walk across the foyer towards Riley Smith Theatre
- Turn right and go down the stairs towards Gear
- Then proceed down the second set of stairs to the left of Gear and follow the signs to the venues
- Walk straight ahead and to the left of staircase in front of you
- Go through the automatic doors, and then again through the next set of doors immediately on your right.
- Proceed up the staircase on your right
- Turn right and walk past Cooplands, the Union shop and Co-op towards Gear
- Take the staircase down to the left of Gear, and follow the signs to the venues
Find our Studios (Sky, Scarlet, Mango and Jade)
- Walk straight ahead across the foyer towards the staircase going down
- Proceed down the staircase towards Gear
- Walk towards Co-op and you will see ‘Studio’ on the left, all the studios can then be found along on the corridor to the right of ‘Studio’
- Turn around and walk across the foyer towards Riley Smith Theatre
- Turn right and go down the staircase towards Gear and Co-op
- Walk towards Co-op and you will see Scarlet Studio on the left, all the studios can then be found along on the corridor to the right of Scarlet Studio
- Walk straight ahead to the left of the staircase in front of you
- Go through the automatic doors, and then again through the next set of doors immediately on your right.
- Proceed up the staircase on your right.
- Turn right and walk past Cooplands, the Union shop and Co-op towards Gear.
- Walk towards Co-op and you will see Scarlet Studio on the left, all the studios can then be found along on the corridor to the right of Scarlet Studio
Find our Meeting Rooms - Accessibility Routes
- Go through the main entrance and take the first left turn, with the lift immediately on your left
- Take the lift up to level 2
- Follow the corridor round on level 2 until you come to your meeting room, all rooms are labelled on the door
- Go across the foyer towards the Riley Smith Theatre where you will find Lift 1 to your immediate left, then take the lift up to level 2
- Proceed on the the corridor on level 2 until you come to your meeting room, all meeting rooms are labelled on the door
- Take Lift 5 on the outside of the building, situated to the right of the staircase doors, up to ‘Level M’ (Level 2)
- Follow the corridor on Level 2 until you come to your meeting room, all rooms are labelled on the door
Find our Venues - Accessibility Routes
- Go through the main entrance and take the first left turn, with Lift 1 immediately on your left
- Take the lift to Level -1 where you will arrive at Old Bar, turn right out of the lift and continue to the end of the corridor
- At the end of the corridor, turn left past Scream and up the ramp past Co-op and Cooplands
- Then head towards Gear and to the left you will see a sign for ‘Lift 4’
- Once in the lift, select the level for Function, Pyramid and Stylus
- Go across the foyer towards the Riley Smith Theatre where you will find Lift 1 immediately on your left
- Take the lift to Level -1 where you will arrive at Old Bar, turn right out of the lift and continue to the end of the corridor
- At the end of the corridor, turn left past Scream and up the ramp past Co-op and Cooplands
- Then head towards Gear and to the left you will see a sign for ‘Lift 4’
- Once in the lift, select the level for Function, Pyramid and Stylus
- Take Lift 5 on the outside of the building to Level -1
- Once on Level -1 you will see a sign directing you to Lift 3
- Follow the signs to Lift 3 and take the lift to the venue of your choice
Find our Studios - Accessibility Routes
- Go through the main entrance and take the first left turn, with Lift 1 immediately on your left
- Take the lift to Level -1 where you will arrive at Old Bar, turn right out of the lift and continue to the end of the corridor
- At the end of the corridor, turn left past Scream and up the ramp past Cooplands towards Gear and Co-op
- You will see Scarlet Studio in between Gear and Co-op, with the rest of the studios to be found down the corridor on in the middle of Scarlet Studio and Co-op
- Go across the foyer towards the Riley smith theatre where you will find Lift 1 to your immediate left
- Take the lift to Level -1 where you will arrive at Old Bar, turn right out of the lift and continue to the end of the corridor
- At the end of the corridor, turn left past Scream and up the ramp past Cooplands towards Gear and Co-op
- Take Lift 5 on the outside of the building, situated to the right of the staircase doors, up to Level -1
- Once on Level -1, turn left out of the lift and through the automatic doors into Common Ground
- Turn left out of the doors and follow the walkway to the ramp
- Go up the ramp and turn Right, go towards Scream and then up the walkway past Cooplands towards Gear and Co-op
- You will see Scarlet Studio in between Gear and Co-op, with the rest of the studios to be found down the corridor in the middle of Scarlet Studio and Co-op
