Ingredients:
- Plain bagels
- Tomato puree
- Grated cheese (make it vegan if you prefer!)
- Your favourite pizza toppings like pepperoni or vegetables (optional)
- Baking potatoes
- Oil and seasonings
Method:
- Start by preheating the oven to 200°C (gas mark 6).
- Wash your potatoes (or peel them if you prefer) and cut them into wedge shapes.
- Toss them in a bowl with some oil, salt, pepper and any other seasonings you like. Paprika and garlic granules are always a winner.
- Lay them out on a baking tray, ensuring they cook evenly by making sure they’re not piled on top of each other, and bake in the oven for half an hour, flipping halfway through. You may find that they need a little longer, depending on your oven.
- Meanwhile, prepare the bagels. Start by slicing them evenly in half.
- Spread the bagels with the tomato puree, then top with as much grated cheese as you’d like.
- Add any other optional toppings at this stage.
- When the wedges have around 6 minutes left to go, add the bagels to the oven on a separate baking tray. Bake them for the remaining time to let the bagels get crispy and the cheese all melted.
- Serve – and be everyone’s favourite flatmate for the evening!
