Impact Interviews: Will – Help & Support Coordinator

At LUU, our working culture is all about inclusivity, fun, and a focus on learning and development. We heard from some of our student staff to discover their thoughts on their part-time roles and how they’ve helped get them ready for their future, including Will, our former Help & Support Coordinator who started as a student assistant.

“I began at LUU as a Help & Support Assistant and spent a year working in the foyer team whilst I was finishing the final year of my International History & Politics degree.

“Balancing both work and study was quite easy as I didn’t have lots of contact hours and my work in the foyer was flexible. Coming to work was such a welcome change from spending hours thinking only in academic terms.

“After a year of working part-time, I’d amassed skills I didn’t even realise I was acquiring. So I ended up getting way more out of the role which I’d initially applied for just as a part-time job.”
