Your top policy priority in a sentence?
I’m looking forward to creating the LUU Media Hub, an online portal that will facilitate collaboration between media societies at the university. In this way, we will use journalism to transform and upgrade student life at Leeds.
Favourite club or society?
Apart from The Gryphon (if that isn’t obvious), I love playing volleyball with LUU Volleyball!
Balcony or Common Ground?
Common Ground 100%. The playlist is too good to choose anything else.
Big night at Fruity or a chilled evening elsewhere?
I’ve been faithful to a Fruity Friday since my first year at university, so a big night at Fruity it is.
Laidlaw or Eddy B?
You’re always guaranteed a place at Eddy B. That’s not the case with Laidlaw, unfortunately.
What’s it called: bacon or wiggly lines?
Bacon. There is simply no other name for it.
Ultimate Old Bar potato stack topping?
Nothing beats beans on a potato stack, even if that’s a controversial opinion. I’m quite partial to a chip butty from Old Bar though.
Favourite spot on campus?
The Gryphon office! We always provide loads of tea and good companionship, including our mascot Bear.
And the big one – why should students vote for you?
Three years at The Gryphon have taught me how exceptional journalism can shape how we think about significant issues in student life and society. Leading The Gryphon, we will continue to grow the newspaper on its journey to further empower and inform students at Leeds.

Your top policy priority in a sentence?
I want to make The Gryphon more interactive and engaging for the whole student body as well as the local community, by focusing on expansion, finance and accessibility.

Common Ground, perfect place for a cuppa and a gossip.
Big night at Fruity or a chilled evening elsewhere?
I love a big night out and my favourite place to go is Viaduct.
Laidlaw or Eddy B?
Eddy B, always Eddy B.
What’s it called: bacon or wiggly lines?
Wiggly Lines because it’s more fun.
Ultimate potato stack topping?
CHILLI, and always curly fries.
Favourite spot on campus?
Terrace, cheap pizzas and 2for1 cocktails will always win my heart.
And the big one – why should students vote for you?
Throughout my three years at University I have been involved with a wide range of societies, including Theatre Group, Open Theatre Society, Netball, Snowriders, Boxing and of course, The Gryphon, and these range of experiences with people from different areas of university life have a given me a good understanding of the student body’s wants and needs.
