In short, we want students to step up and take over the running of their chosen society. Being on a club or society committee comes with loads of great benefits, from building your professional, social and leadership skills, to improving your wellbeing.
You’ll be surprised at the breadth of CV-worthy skills you develop as a committee member – from chairing meetings to planning and delivering events, or even managing the society’s accounts, there are so many experiences you’ll gain that will set you apart in future job applications. You could even win an award for your work with the club or society!
If you do decide to Adopt a Society, you can rest assured that LUU’s Activities Team will provide training and support.
Societies currently looking for new leaders include: Astro, Environmental, Jazz and Blues, Physical Health and training, Italian, Romanian, Opera, Leeds Rev Choir, Band Soc, CrimSoc, French, Conservatives, Coffee, Bhangra, English, Bereaved Student Network, Oral Medicine and Surgery, Sociology, Third Culture Kid, Mantality and Wing Chun.
