Tickets are now live via Leeds Union Events. Party at our free Arrival Party, famous Fruity club nights, and Shuffle UV Party. For a more chilled setting to make friends, attend our Retro Games Night, or discover clubs and societies at the Welcome Fair. And this is not all – there are more events on our website and further to be announced.

Every year, many events companies say they’re selling official Leeds Freshers’ tickets and wristbands, but these claims are false. You can only get the real deal via Leeds University Union. In order to avoid disappointment, it’s important to be careful that you’re buying a legitimate Leeds Welcome wristband or ticket, and the only way to be sure is to purchase them through us. Make sure to sign up to our newsletter to be the first to hear about what’s coming.

Beyond your Welcome experience, Leeds is a brilliant place to go out, with a wide range of pubs, bars and nightclubs on your doorstep. The city is brimming with options (check out our eating & drinking article for some of our top recommendations), but if you want to make life easy we’ve also got many to choose from right here on campus.

Club nights

Going ‘out-out’? Fruity is our legendary club night, the longest-running (and if we say so ourselves, best) student night in the city. Taking place every Friday, this fun, affordable night is your destination for cheesy tunes and a guaranteed good time.

Or if you want to change things up, try our newer night, Shuffle UV Party. Expect everything from Abba to Eminem, and Doja Cat to Drake, across three rooms at Shuffle – Your Monthly Music Mash-Up Party.

Pubs and bars

We’ve also got you covered if you’re after a more relaxed evening. Hit up Old Bar – our traditional pub at the heart of campus – for real ale, delicious pub grub, quizzes and sports screenings. Or visit Terrace to enjoy cocktails, pizza and more on our large outdoor terrace (see where we got the name from?).

If you’re a non-drinker, our venues have loads of options for you to choose from, from non-alcoholic beers and virgin cocktails to your classic soft drink options. Everyone’s catered for at LUU, with cheap drinks and great vibes no matter what you fancy. And if you are planning on drinking alcohol, make sure you know your limits. Freshers is no fun when you overdo it, so go at your own pace and remember to drink water too. Your body and bank account will thank you for it.
