“Firstly, we want you to make Leeds your comfortable home while you study. A great home is a place you want to be and it helps to get on with the neighbours.
With the Government restrictions brought on by this challenging year, as well as helping the neighbours smile, there’s a lot more to think about:
- Make sure you are happy in your (potentially) smaller social circles
- Enjoy your time in your university accommodation (your new household)
- Find out about what you can do outside in your union, your university and your town
It would be easy to think about the negatives but we encourage you to:
- Smile and say hello to your neighbours when you see them (even when behind a mask),
- Be aware of the group restrictions – you do not want to add a Police fine to your student debt!
- Make the most of your time with your household – cook a meal together, go for a walk outdoors – and be supportive,
- And if you do run into problems, your union can help!”
