Let's walk through a safer night out! How you would start a night out?
“I would suggest eating a good meal – line that stomach! Make sure you have a charged phone to keep in contact with friends and keep one another safe!”
And you don’t have to go far for that good meal – our traditional pub, Old Bar, and our cocktail bar, Terrace, stay open till late, with menus packed with affordable deliciousness to satisfy your cravings.
What should I do if I start to feel unwell during a night out at LUU?
“Speak to a staff member – look out for our Fruity Welfare Reps in blue t-shirts! They can get you water, charge your phone, or even take you to the medical room if necessary. If you can’t spot a Fruity Welfare Rep on the dance floor, you can find them opposite the Co-op in the dance studios where they are based.”
“You can also ‘Ask for Angela’ in Fruity, Terrace, and Old Bar if you feel unsafe, and they can support you.”
Also, don’t forget to stay hydrated! You can always ask for free tap water at any of our bars, or use one of our refill stations.
What is the best way to end a good night out?
“Get the Night Bus home! It’s the best way to get home safely and for free.”
“I also love to have a snack at the end of the night, preferably in the form of cheesy chips from Crispy’s…”
What are your favourite memories of nights out at Leeds?
“One of my favourite memories of a night out in Leeds was a few weeks ago – leaving Fruity when the lights came up and getting home during the sunrise. Emily, Ella and I went to Crispy’s after dancing the night away in Fruity with some of the Activities Exec. It was such a fun night celebrating a wonderful year of societies at Leeds with some of my favourite people!”
