Safe Nights at LUU

Being a student isn’t easy, and it is important that you find time to relax and have fun. Here at LUU, we take your fun seriously, and we offer a whole variety of events for every need and desire.

If you love a good dance session in a club, Fruity – our own weekly club night – is your place to be on a Friday. We want you to dance the night away with no worries on your mind, which is why your safety is our priority, and there is a lot we do to ensure that your night out is enjoyable and concern-free.

On the night

Searching: Our security guards search every attendee upon arrival to every club night.

Anti-spiking tools: We offer Spikey bottle tops and drinks covers. Just ask for one at the bar!

Wellbeing event reps: There are multiple wellbeing event reps available to any student who is looking for help or advice. Someone will be in the venue, while others will welcome you in a quiet safe room if you need to take a break. Every interaction they have with a student is documented, and you can request a follow-up call from our Help & Support team if you’d like further support. Just look out for the wellbeing event reps in their light blue hoodies!

Ask for Angela: Our staff are trained to respond to Ask For Angela, and to offer you support and assistance if needed.

After the night

Night Bus: We offer a night bus service to get you home safely. It is free, safe, and convenient, and it will take you home to anywhere within the Leeds Outer Ring Road.
