For those gearing up for their ceremonies: you have persevered through the unprecedented pressures brought on by Covid and the cost of living crisis, and your resilience and wellbeing has been tested in ways we couldn’t have imagined a few years ago. You are part of a unique group shaped by extraordinary circumstances.
My fellow LUU Student Exec and I echo this message to graduate employers from the University of Exeter Students’ Guild, to ask them to recognise the skills, dedication, hard work and perseverance that this year’s graduating cohort bring.
As your Education Officer, I have input into the FAQ’s the Student Education Service and UoL student communications team has developed to ensure students have the information they need while negotiations between the trade unions and the University continue. Mitigating the impact of industrial action on staff and students has been my top priority this year, and it will continue to be so as I have been re-elected as your Education Officer at LUU.
LUU is here to listen to you and support you. Our free Advice service, which is independent from the University of Leeds, is working hard to make sure anyone who needs to navigate this difficult time is supported, so please get in touch with them if you have any concerns. Your Head of School will also be able to give you information about when you should expect your results.
– Bethan Corner, Education Officer
